® Kelly Williams 2006

My interest in fish first began in my early teens. This began with a 2 foot tropical tank and it wasn’t long before tank numbers multiplied and took over one room of the house!

As the end of my schooling drew nearer I had still to decide on a career. My brother mentioned that a college in Hampshire ran courses on fish.

The college recommended that I did a year’s work experience before joining the course. I did this at The Water Gardens in Swindon. This is a family run pond and aquarium shop that specialises in water plants.

The year I spent there was a continuous education thanks mainly to Ben who had been to the college a couple of years before. It was here that my knowledge of ponds and plants really started to grow.

In 1999 I completed my National Diploma in Aquatics and Ornamental Fish Management gaining a distinction. Following this I worked at the Aquatic Habitat running their pond plant department.

In 2003 I took some time out and went travelling and when I returned I decided to try something new and set up my own business. I based it around maintaining ponds and aquariums in North Wiltshire and South Gloucestershire.

It’s now April 2006 and I am entering my 4th successful year and so far every year has been busier than the last!
